  • infertility evaluation
  • menstrual irregularities

What Happens During A Gynecologic Exam?

A typical gynecologic exam will include a thorough examination of multiple organ systems including the breast, thyroid, heart, lungs, gastrointestinal area, and pelvic area. In some cases, you will also be referred for a mammogram and bone density test, depending on several factors such as your age, your family history, and your individual risk factors.

Pap smears are generally performed on women over the age of 21 and up to the age of 65. Frequency of Pap testing varies based on individual medical history.

When necessary, in-office procedures may include an endometrial biopsy and colposcopy, or surgery, including advanced laparoscopic procedures to minimally invasive surgery.

Our physicians and nurse practitioners provide the most advanced and extensive treatments for complex gynecologic issues such as pelvic pain, ovarian cysts, and bleeding disorders, so you can rest assured that you will be treated effectively.
