Breastfeeding Information

Dear Expectant Parents,

Our OB/GYN in Bucks County encourages our new mothers to become informed about the many benefits of breastfeeding for both mother and baby. Though there is an abundance of information available in support of breastfeeding, our women's health center takes our cues from The American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology. The College gives the following recommendations:

“The American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists strongly encourages women to breastfeed and supports each woman’s right to breastfeed. The College recommends exclusive breastfeeding for the first 6 months of life, with continued breastfeeding as complementary foods are introduced through the infant’s first year of life.”

Though Breast is Best, our office of obstetrics in Doylestown, PA, understands that every family's needs and situations are unique. Some women may not produce enough milk while some babies may require more milk than their mothers can produce. Our staff and the staff of Doylestown Hospital VIA Maternity Center will provide recommendations based on your unique circumstances. However, regardless of what route you choose, we will support you in the feeding choice that is right for you and your family.
