New Study Shows Language Lessons Start Before Birth

The New York Times recently published an article about new discoveries in babies' language learning. Using children who were born in one country and quickly adopted into another, researchers found that babies can hear languages before and after they're born. They're able to perceive sounds of one language while in the womb and carry those perceptions into their speaking skills later in life, giving them the ability to pronounce certain sounds that aren't existent in the language they learn to speak after birth.
