Pregnancy isn't always as easy to achieve as it seems, and if you've been struggling, here are a few easy, natural ways to boost your fertility.
Tips to Boost Fertility & Get Pregnant
Is conception proving to be more of a challenge than you thought? Don't worry: you're not alone, and there's plenty you can do to increase your odds of getting pregnant. Here are a few easy, natural ways to boost your fertility:
- Double-Check Your Diet: Diet impacts to many important facets of health, and fertility is no exception. Make sure you're eating a healthy, balanced diet, with enough protein, vitamin C, vitamin D, zinc, and iron. A lack of these nutrients can lengthen your menstrual cycle and decrease ovulation frequency, so getting ample amounts gives you more chances of getting pregnant.
- Watch Your Substances: We all know not to drink when pregnant, but new research now supports the conclusion that both alcohol and tobacco can interfere with both fertilization and implantation of an egg. If you're struggling to get pregnant, it may be time to take a break from alcohol and tobacco.
- Monitor Ovulation: Women are most fertile during ovulation and in the four or five days beforehand, but cycles can vary dramatically. Your menstrual cycle may be anywhere from 21 to 35 days, and ovulation can occur as early as day 6 or as late as day 21. Track your cycle on a calendar and use at-home ovulation test kits to determine when you're at your most fertile.
- Get Busy Getting Busy: Finally, there's no way around it - frequent sex helps with conception. Some research indicates that frequent sex, or at least weekly sex, helps regulate your menstrual cycle and may cause you to produce more estrogen.
