A Typical Gynecologic Exam

A typical gynecologic exam will include a thorough medical examination of multiple organ systems which includes breast, thyroid, heart, lungs, gastrointestinal and a pelvic exam. Depending on your age, family history and your individual risk factors, you will also be referred for a mammogram and bone density test. PAP smears are generally performed on women over the age of 21 and up to the age of 65. Frequency of PAP testing tends to vary depending on each individual’s medical history. When it is determined necessary, in-office procedures may include an endometrial biopsy and colposcopy. When necessary, our doctors are capable of performing surgery as well, whether it be advanced laparoscopic procedures or minimally invasive surgery.

Our physicians and nurse practitioners provide the most advanced and extensive treatments for complex gynecologic issues such as pelvic pain, ovarian cysts and bleeding disorders,so you can ensure you will be treated effectively.
